All of co-workers got together for a nomihodai (all you can drink) session at an izakaya!
It was fun, but exhausting!
To be honest, I’ve never drank so much in my life. It kept getting pushed at me by all sides, female sempais mostly. And ‘Mr. Dublin’.
A word of advice; Never try to match drinks with an Irishman. You will lose.
In fact, I’m sure he wasn’t even drunk!
Or maybe he was?
Someone was (teasingly) telling me in front of ‘Mr. Dublin’ that he had said he likes me. Of course, ‘Mr. Dublin’ and I had a big laugh over this. ‘Mr. Dublin’ isn’t interested in me in even the slightest.
‘Mr. Dublin’ said with a big laugh, “I know that I’m drunk because I can stand to be around you.”
*Gee, thanks!*

(That’s me and ‘Mr. Dublin’ in the center. I had to find a photo that didn’t show his face!)
So, after nomihodai, there was a second drinking session at a bar down the street.

(Me with Ozaki-san at the second drinking party)
It was alittle too crazy, so I ducked out early.
I ended up at Mr. Dublin’s house, drinking beer with him.
We listened to music, he sang a country song he likes for me (of course, because I’m from Kentucky, I’m supposed to like country music… I don’t, but oh well.). He can play guitar very well, but he’s modest about it.
I hung out at his place for a while, having a friendly chat.
Then, his girlfriend started text-messaging him. After a bit, he mumbled something about needing to ‘do right by’ his girlfriend, and I was gently shown the door out.
‘Mr. Dublin’ has never shown any interest in me, at all. Even though I’m older than him, he treats me like a little sister. It was unnecessary to have to show me the door. I was so angry about.
Now, I just worried that I’ll lose a new friend to a crazy girlfriend.
