One of the dishes I really want to make for Naoko’s family is biscuits and gravy.
It’s popular in Kentucky for breakfast or dinner!
I’m wondering if there is any REAL bacon in Japan these days!! Bacon like this! Not the weird, rubbery stuff that I’ve seen in stores in Kobe.
I’m also wondering if I can buy Bisquick (ビスクイック) there or do I need to bring it myself!?
Other things I want to cook for them;
Baked lemon pepper chicken or fish
New England Clam chowder (I just like the canned type!)
Yes, you can get biscuits in Japan, but only at KFC!!! hahaha!
It’s funny, isn’t it? You come here from Kentucky, and go to the KFC.
The big supermarket from oversea, maybe US? the COSTOCO is in Amagasaki near Kobe, so I can take you there to get the American bacon. I’m looking forward to having your breakfast!!
It is funny!!!! The one thing of my culture that was given to the entire globe was fried chicken.
My homemade biscuits are so much better! Less fat and oil too! I’m just a little lazy to mix each ingredent. That’s why I was wondering about the easy biscuit flour. Can I get it at Costco? ビスクイック… You can google it to see the box. It helps make baked goods so easy… It’s my redneck side! I feel like I can do anything in the kitchen if I have ビスクイック.
